Does the Fire Safety Order 2005 apply to my business?


In-short, YES. What does the LAW say?


The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 legislation requires anyone who is responsible for a premises or place of work in-which “people have access” to therefore undertake a full fire risk assessment of their premises.

Who is responsible for carrying out my fire risk assessment?


The legislation places a ‘duty of care’ on employers, owners and occupiers of a business premises to safeguard the premises & protect staff and members of the public from the risks posed by fire & its effects @ the workplace. In practice, this means the owner, the manager & the responsible person in charge of any place of work or premises over which he or she has control, is therefore deemed responsible for ensuring a suitable & sufficient fire risk assessment has been conducted.
